For this client’s first solo apartment, the goal was to create a home that felt both sophisticated and playful. In the living room, we established a neutral base that serves as a canvas for curated pops of color and texture.
To maximize the footprint of a smaller space, we designed the room to be intentionally multifunctional, seamlessly integrating a cozy lounge, a chic bistro dining nook, and a dedicated bar area for entertaining.
The bedroom serves as a dramatic, intimate departure from the bright living room. We utilized the "color drenching" technique, wrapping the walls and ceiling in a deep, muted dusty pink to create a warm, cocoon-like sanctuary.
By focusing on a mix of materials from the burl wood nightstands to the soft velvet bench, and layering in warm ambient lighting, we achieved a space that feels incredibly warm and cozy while maintaining a clean, simple silhouette. This balance of airy social spaces and a saturated private retreat makes this first home feel truly elevated.
